 Sun Microsystems Channel Development Partner of the Year makes new appointment

Avnet Technology Solutions Ltd (Avnet) is pleased to announce that Eric Murphy has been appointed Sales Director of the Avnet Sun Division UK and Ireland.

This appointment is effective immediately and is designed to strengthen Avnet Technology Solutions’ position as the largest distributor of Sun Microsystems technology and services in the UK. In fact Avnet won Channel Development Partner (CDP) of the Year at Sun’s annual CxO Partner Awards in London at the end of last yearAvnet is the largest Sun distributor worldwide in terms of revenue generated via our business partners” said Matthew Gower, Vice President of sales UK, Ireland and Nordic at Avnet. “Because of the size and resources available throughout the Avnet organisation we are able to match the structure of Sun’s product business groups which means closer collaboration between vendor and distributor. In both EMEA and the UK, Avnet Technology Solutions has a talented team capable of tapping into the extensive programmes and incentives available from Sun and presenting them to the benefit of local business partners. Eric brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role of Sales Director and under his leadership we intend to build on our success last year by continuing to develop existing business partners and acquiring new ones.”

Eric Murphy joined Avnet in May 2007 as an Account Manager and has eight years experience in the Sun distribution business.
